Face Britain

It’s policy here at PhotoBox that we try to dip our wicks into just about anything that’s a good cause and lately we’ve been helping The Prince’s Foundation for Children & The Arts with their Face Britain campaign. For those of you that don’t have a scooby doo what this is, it’s only the country’s attempt at a Guinness World Record for the ‘Most artists working on the same art installation’ through the use of thousands of kids’ self portraits!

These super duper portraits are drawn by kids in schools up and down the country and are how the Queen is celebrating her diamond jubilee, well, how we’re celebrating it for her anyway. The portraits will be projected onto Buckingham Palace on a GIGANTIC template of the Queen’s head, so each kid gets their moment of fame.

Face Britain aims to be the biggest collection of online portraits in the world and what could be better than a shed load of lovely, smiley, silly faces? If your child has entered their self-portrait into the Face Britain campaign, you can now buy all kinds of products with their picture splashed across it! Whether it’s a mug, mouse mat or T-shirt, you’ll never forget your child’s very own piece of Great British history.

Thousands of great portraits have been entered in to the campaign already but there’s still room for much, much more. So if you’re a teacher, parent, or you’re just interested in getting involved, just click here and join in! BUT, be quick! The closing date for entries is 31st March 2012.
